Halloween

We LOVE Halloween. It's one of our favorite holidays. The college had a night called Tech-or-Treat that I really wanted to take the kids to. Steve had class, so I took the kids alone (but he snuck in time for dinner with us). It was mass chaos and so crowded. I won't do that again unless Steve comes with me. For actual Halloween I was in Dallas running my Spartan Beast race.

I flew to Dallas Thursday night and Andy picked me up. We drove out to Waco to visit a dental lab there that he has been working with for a long time. I mentioned to him about Magnolia Market and the show called Fixer Upper and how it was based in Waco, so we checked that out. It was POURING rain. It was the grand opening so we didn't stay long.

We picked Brandon up Friday night and ate a big carb dinner. Dallas had torrential rain fall, like flooding everywhere and roads shut down it was nuts.

We were suppose to be out at the race course ready to run at 8am. We headed there early because we weren't sure what the drive would be like. It should have taken us 30 minutes to get there but it took us almost 2 hours. Traffic and road closures made it a nightmare. We had heard they had to change some of the obstacles because they were too dangerous with the amount of flooding (there was a river right along the course) and so they were a little late starting anyway. I've never seen so much mid in my life. I was so nervous to do this 13 mile run in these conditions. I'm so glad that I had an awesome team to help keep me motivated.

I missed my kids and Steve so much but I'm so glad that I did this race. Steve took the kids trunk-or-treating at the church and then found a neighborhood to take them trick-or-treating at on the night of Halloween.
