Tonight Addison graduated to a new room!
Addison's new room is dark and quiet and warm. She used to be in the receiving room of the NICU where a lot of nurses could keep an eye on her, but now she is being pampered. She is in a room with three other isolets and one bassinet. Of course, she has already made friends, so there are plenty of visitors. The nurses who have taken care of her drop in now and again (tonight we even visited with Denise, Addison and Jillian's Labor and Delivery nurse), and Addison has a friend named C.J., the little boy in the isolet next to hers, and he got to move to the new room with her. She was a little demanding about C.J. coming with her.
Anyone who has spent any time in the NICU knows that you can come from a different city and lifestyle of the parents in your room, but it still becomes comforting to see them day after day, knowing that they are going through the same struggles and triumphs that you and your baby are. So even though we have only talked to C.J.'s parents a couple of times, we feel like good friends and find reassurance in their presence.

She is just super cute! :) That is great that she is off the oxygen! and in her new room! It is crazy how close you get to the other babies/parents in the NICU.
yay!! congrats! she is so beautiful and doing so well! looks like you'll have her home in no time! i'm so glad that you guys get to be at home and have so much support. i remember my first day after avery was delivered, klayton picked up a Preemie Magazine from the NICU and brought it to me. i was so excited to get to know more about what having a preemie was like, but i was in tears by page five! all of the so-called success stories in there were mom's writing in saying, "i had a 30-weeker, and he's doing so well! after 6 surgeries, the doctors now have his massive brain-hemmorrhage under control! they think that he will be able to feed himself by the time he's 30!" it was horrific. i'm glad you guys are having a real success story. she is just beautiful. so good to see you guys again! all our love. xoxo
