Reflections of Christ

I'm supposed to be doing something constructive on the computer. That's what I tell myself and why I justify me being glued to the computer while Jillian falls asleep upstairs. And I started out diligent tonight...and then I opened my e-mail and got a letter from Amanda. It was a simple message about the work of a photographer whose work is now on display at the the Mesa, Arizona temple. Anyone who knows me knows that I am skeptical of artwork depicting the life of the Savior, and I can even be vocally critical of it. I guess i have always felt that if you are going to use your talents to make money by commercializing the life of Jesus Christ, you'd better be amazing.
I went to the link (www.reflectionsofchrist.org) and was immediately at a loss for what to say. I have never seen anything so vividly full of the Spirit, and you have to remember that I will go to my grave testifying that the Spirit of Mel Gibson's film "The Passion of the Christ" was overwhelming and brought me closer to my Redeemer than any other piece of art ever has. The images that Mark Mabry and his team have captured are exquisite. They evoke a life that I falter to emulate and fail to begin to comprehend, but what is most remarkable to me is the intimate, personal nature of the character of Christ that has been revealed. I can honestly say that this work brings me one step closer to understanding and comprehending my friend and my brother as a human being full of life, emotion, and comprehendible love.
And at this Easter season, I could not have asked for anything more. Enjoy.

I visited the link, and it is truly amazing! I love it and I wish we would have time this weekend when we are in Phoenix to go to the Mesa Temple Visitors center to see it! Thanks for sharing Steve!

I am glad you posted that. And I am glad you liked it. I sat alone at 8:00 in the morning in tears. If you go to my blog there is another link that I put on there that has some more pictures with the song come thou font of every blessing with it. I think Ashlyn and I watched it at least 5 times. He needs to make this into a coffee table book so we can share it.

wow steve. I agree with you on that one. I was very moved when I opened Amanda's e-mail. The picture of Christ were so personable and you could almost feel Jesus' love through them. Another picture that spoke to me was the one of Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. Joseph was sitting there looking at his new family. All I could think of was how overwelmed he must have felt. He was such a good man.

Yes, you are a horrible leader. So, I am too lazy to look up the link to that strolle,r but all you have to do is type in "jogging stroller" (or, for me, I typed in "double jogging stroller") in the baby section of ebay and a ton of them came up!! It's so cute, huh?!
