I thought I'd update on Addison. Before we went to California she went in for her 6 month check up and is doing great. The doctors don't ever tell me what percentile she is in because I think they know it is just ridiculous information when it comes to a preemie. Really how can you compare her to anyone else, you'd have to only test preemies and preemies that were in the same exact situation she was in. She is doing great and her doctor is very pleased with how well she is doing. I looked up the results on my own and this is how she rates.
6 months old
Length 15 percentile
Weight 5 percentile
Head 25 percentile
Using her adjusted age which is what we will do until she is at least 2 years
Length 50 percntile
Weight 25 percentile
Height 50 percentile
We went in to the doctor again a week after her initial appointment because Addison has been spitting up, let me rephrase that has been throwing up more as she is getting bigger. It is so odd, she just gets the look on her face and you know what is coming, it takes no effort the spit up just comes up all over, puddles of it (sorry I just have to explain so you understand) it is not acid reflux, she doesn't projectile vomit it is just a whole lot of milk at 1 time, poor little thing. She is gaining weight like she should and she looks great but I just am scared for her so that is why I took her in again. It just turns out that Addison is more underdeveloped then we thought and more underdeveloped then the doctors thought. She might have been 32 weeks old but she was not developed to a 32 week old baby, well I guess not everything was developed. They said who knows what I really had and how long I really had it and who knows how it effected her from developing, it is just a good thing she got out when she did. I believe it is a good thing that she did so well in the NICU and it didn't cause them to take more tests because she probably would have been in there longer and might have even had some surgeries on her digestive system and esophagus. The little flap that is at the bottom of your esophagus isn't fully developed yet and we are just hoping that on its own it will develop and start to work properly. Addison continues to be my little miracle child and I'm sure everyone is tired of me saying that but she has changed our lives forever and has fought through so much. I am amazed at even a full term newborn baby, all children are miracles and we as mothers are so lucky to be able to have the responsibility for having and raising these little children.

I hear through the grapevine that Addison is quite the doll! I wish we lived closer so that our girls could play - they would have so much fun...maybe not as fun as there mom's would have - but nonetheless it would be fun! So how big is Addison now? I am sure that with all your efforts she is developing amazing!
I hear you on the vomiting. Eva has acid reflux and still projectile vomits multiple times during the day. I keep thinking that we will be able to get her off her medicine - but for now I just use lots of bibs and burp clothes. Good luck - hopefully it passes soon!
