Addison's Baby Shower

Since Addison wasn't due until November 10th I thought having her baby shower on September 27th would be a great day to have her shower, it would give me PLENTY of time to do any last minute shopping and preparing for her arrival. Well, since that didn't work out Dawn still had the baby shower for Addison and me. The shower couldn't have been any better than it was. It was truly perfect. Dawn did a great job. She is so creative and always outdoes herself for parties. I think she needs to get in the party planning business. When we pulled up to Dawn's house there were balloons outside, a "It's a Girl" banner on her door, and then more balloons inside as well as lots of pink decorations, and naked babies on the table that Grant & Garrett weren't sure about. I was having a hard time not having Addison there with me but being surrounded by family and friends made it a little easier. Dawn had pictures of Addison up as a centerpiece and then she had me pass around pictures of Addison and tell everyone how she was doing. Then we played a couple games and ate some delicious food, then it was on to presents. I can't believe how spoiled Addison and I are. Aunt Dawn gave Addison her first shoe collection and let me tell you it is something else. This little girl is going to be dressed to a T with all these adorable shoes and tights to go with them. We also got a glider, a tutu, lots of cute bows, peace swing (check it out at target.com- it is amazing), clothes, bibs, toys, an adorable basket full of lotions, wash cloths, nail clippers and much much more. We are so lucky to have such great people in our lives. We are especially grateful for Dawn. I couldn't have done this without her, she has just made things easier since she had 2 boys that were 32 weeks old when they were born. She has been so supportive, loving and kind. Steve and I are so blessed to have both of our families. We may not get to see them often we still feel like we are close to all of them and we truly felt the power of everyone's thoughts and prayers.

I'm so happy you liked the basket. Amanda and I had a blast doing it for you. I just wish I could have been there at your shower. Glad it went well!
