LONG WEEK
So this has been a very long week for me. I just worked 62 hours in 5 days. I was in charge of an event at work called Road to Executive Director that is where we bring all of our marketing executives (some companies call them distributors) to Idaho Falls once they reach a certain status in the company. We had 85 businesses come which equalled about 150 people flying into Idaho Falls. They flew in on Tuesday night then we had a little "Meet & Mingle Reception" for them. This all took place at the Shilo Inn in Idaho Falls. Then on Wednesday they had business meetings, & training's all day long. Then on Thursday morning we took them on tours of our Home Office, our plant, and our distribution warehouse and then back to the Shilo for more meetings. Thursday night we bussed them all out to Frank's ranch and we had a great dinner there in the NICEST BARN I've ever seen. Friday morning we got up early bussed them all to Jackson Hole, remind you the road had closed everyday for 4 days straight, but it was open so we were going. About a little after Ririe I didn't feel comfortable being in charge of 165 people including staff, so we weighed out the options made some calls. I actually called Idaho State Police who told me that they were close to closing the road but they didn't make the decision the DOT made the decision so there we went Jackson Hole here we come. We got to Jackson about 11:40a.m at 12:15p.m I get a call, the highway was closed who'd a thought that? So then we just acted like everything was ok and the people went skiing, on an elk ride and shopping all while we were trying to figure out how to get home. We ended up finding a few different highways that we open so we took the LONG way home down through Afton Wyoming, Soda Springs, Montpelier and through Pocatello home. The roads were awful, a deer jumped out right in front of us we swerved and missed it but we ended up getting home at midnight back to the Shilo, so hurried got everything cleaned up and I was actually home by 1:00a.m. I was just glad to be home, the roads were awful and I seriously had such a long week with really early hours, and late nights. It is very stressful to be in charge of events like this, but it is an adrenaline rush at the same time.
