We Know Snow...but, in Tucson?!

After bragging about how beautiful the winters are in Arizona, our family from out of town left just in time! The week after they left, we had a snowfall, and then a couple of weeks later we had our first, and only, real snowstorm of the year.

Addi was so excited to actually see snow. She had all but accepted that as long as we live in Arizona, she wouldn't get to play in the snow, make snow angels, throw snowballs, or build snowmen. And since Jace was born right at Christmas, we didn't get to go to either of Addi's grandparents' houses to play in the snow this year.

The city of Tucson did truck in snow before Christmas so Santa could come greet the children, but Addi was only temporarily satisfied by the single parking lot filled with snow.

So, when the storm came, we took her to relish in it!

The first snowfall didn't even justify putting on snow clothes, but it was still fun to go play in it:

When the storm finally came a couple of weeks later, we knew it was going to be a fun day! This is a view of the snowfall from our driveway:

And she's headed to our park to build a snowman:

After getting all done, she remembered how cold the snow really is!

But she still took a moment to admire just how awesome it was to build a snowman on the one day of the year that there was enough snow to build him:

The morning after the snowstorm, and it's already melting away, but it made for a beautiful, crisp day, without having to shovel or plow:
