Running Again...For Her Life

Jillian may have been temporarily slowed by a pregnancy and a blood clot, but her need to run caught up with her. On March 23, Jillian did a 5K Zombie Mud Run that combined the distance running she loves with intense obstacles and some flesh-eating zombies, for good fun.

On the day of the race, we woke the children up early to get across town so Jillian could get registered and ready.

Pre-race family picture and love fest--just in case Mommy got eaten by a zombie on her run:

The shipping crates at the beginning of the race, complete with hanging "bodies":

Addi made quick friends with this little girl. It never ceases to amaze us how she always finds someone to be her friend everywhere we go. Add is such a precious little girl, filled with love and a desire to be kind and friendly.

One of Mommy's obstacles toward the end of the race:

Her final obstacle (and last zombies) of the race. If you listen, you can hear Addi genuinely concerned and afraid about whether the zombies were going to get Mommy:

She survived!

After two half marathons, hours and miles of training and running, and this final zombie mud run, her running shoes, however, had seen their last race.
