The weekend is over, and with it comes Jillian's return!
I figured I owe it to anyone who's followed along on our adventures this weekend to let you know how it wrapped up.
This morning Addi was so excited to see Mommy! We got ready, Addi took a bath (she thinks it is so funny to pour her cup of water over her head, but HATES it when I do it!), got on her Valentine's Day outfit (with Mickey and Minnie, of course!), we cleaned the house (don't tell Jillian that we waited until this morning to vacuum, mop, and dust!), and we headed out. I mentioned that we were going to get flowers for Mommy on our way, so Addi dragged me into her room, and had me get the artificial flower we use to decorate her room. The rest of the morning, she was inseparable from it!
We stopped by Jack-in-the-Box to get breakfast for Jillian (just in case she hadn't had a chance to eat), Albertson's and got a rose. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Talk about price gauging! I stand firm on my belief that this one is robbery- flowers are one of the only gifts in this world that you can't buy a week ahead of time at decent prices, and stores and florists know this and totally Jimmer you on the price on Valentine's Day! So we forked over a small fortune for a single rose arrangement (I know, all delusions you had of me as a romantic just ended), and headed for the airport.
We got to the airport early so we could be there when Jillian got off her plane, and Addi was so excited and good. Until she pooped! And of course, for the second time, I was unprepared! Luckily I had only left the diaper bag in the car, so we got that taken care of quickly, and returned to waiting.
As soon as the passengers started deboarding, Addi watched in anticipation until she saw her mommy. There was no keeping her back- luckily Jillian cleared security before Addi reached her.
And so we were reunited as a family. There were a lot of tears, hugs, and kisses, and I am so grateful for the little family I have. I'm sure Jillian will fill you in on her side of the weekend, but right now, both of my girls are napping, so it will have to wait.
I guess this is my last naptime blog post for a while- back to work tomorrow, and for some reason we don't get nap times there!
I can not tell you how grateful I am to have such a wonderful friend and wife as Jillian. On this Valentine's Day, I hope and pray that each of you are able to find someone you love, and tell them, whether they have heard it a million times, or whether you haven't gotten the courage to say it yet, how much they mean to you and how much you love them! Make today the day, for no other reason than to make sure they know and you know that you have told them. And because it's Valentine's Day, and the world has given you an excuse to do it!
Oh yeah. I spent this weekend blogging while listening to an awesome new album- James Vincent McMorrow's "Early in the Morning". An awesome soundtrack for a chill weekend. Find it, buy it, and listen to it until you feel it too!
