Today in church we talked about miracles. I absolutely believe in miracles, and that they happen every day in each of our lives. For one, I believe it is a miracle that Addi and I made it through this weekend! But I also believe it is a miracle that my life is blessed with such sweet spirits like Jillian and Addison that teach me the meaning of Christlike love and compassion on a daily basis.
In Mark 1:41 we read it was compassion that gave Jesus the power to put forth his hand, touch the leper, and heal him. It wasn't some godly power, exclusive only to Jesus Christ. It was compassion and Christ-like love. pure and simple. I do believe that showing this Christ-like compassion toward others has the power lift the spirits of the depressed, downtrodden, and generally dispirited; it has the ability to instill confidence, provide reassurance, and change the course of a life. And that change is as miraculous as the change from water into wine, or from crippled to walking. I know because I've felt that change emanate from the Christlike love of my daughter and my wonderful wife, as well as so many friends and family members.
Shout blasphemer at your computer screens all you want, but then go be compassionate and see if I'm not wrong. And then after you've done it, see if this isn't really the true meaning of Valentine's Day.
Happy Valentine's Day.

What a great post. I have always felt this and as I have gotten older have really seen it and blessed with christlike people in my life. This is the one thing I hope to teach my children is the Love for others no matter what. I pray for it everyday. We love you all!
