Adventures in Bread Making

I haven't posted in a while because I have been super busy, and I have been out of town for a week, AND we are getting ready for another trip and will be leaving on Tuesday. Man it is hard work to travel, especially with the baby.

Ok this was a couple weeks ago. My BFF (Stefanie Merrill), who I met while going to BYU-Idaho, married a nice young man from Idaho Falls so her and her hubby live in Idaho Falls which is great for us because we get to hang out! We don't get together as much as I'd like, but I think we are going to work on that. We normally go get pedicures at the beauty college, go shopping, and we even had a scrap booking day at her house which was awesome! Well since money is a little tighter now, for all of us, we have been coming up with other less costly ideas. Stef mentioned that she doesn't know how to make bread and I told her I would show her how. My Grandma Snuffy is great at making bread and I actually got a lesson from my Grandma a couple years ago and watched her make her bread and I learned a ton. So I pulled out the recipe on that Saturday morning about an hour before Stef came and I realized it didn't have any directions, just ingredients, so I was freaking out. I found another recipe that I've made before that had great directions on it so we decided Stef would make that bread and I'd make mine and just pretend like I knew what I was doing. We made it a contest and I ended up winning (we did a blind taste test contest with Steve as the judge) because mine tasted better-- Stef's was good too, just not as sweet. Well, then we cut into the middle and mine wasn't cooked all the way so my bread won best tasting but then Stef won best overall bread!! Just a side note, Stef almost put in 2 Cups of salt instead of 2 TBSP. Now that would have been hilarious!!

As you can tell we have a lot of fun when we get together and I just love having Stef here and I also love having Dustin (her husband) here as well.
Next on the list, Dustin and I are going to have a Cake Mania tournament! He doesn't know it yet but once he plays this game I'm just sure he'll sell all his LAME Xbox games where you just kill each other! FYI Cake Mania is a fun computer game where you own a bakery and you get new equipment and can serve more customers. I highly recommend this game!!!
