Spring Has Brought Us Such a Nice Surprise

Easter this year was much needed! The winter had dragged on too long, and it was time to celebrate Spring, get our lives more Christ-centered, and watch Addi excitement at another holiday she was old enough to really grasp.

We started the season with the 12 days of Easter, opening a plastic egg each night, finding a surprise inside and reading the message about the life of Christ that goes with it. It was a huge success (though in typical Holiday family fashion, we forgot to start on time, so we ended up opening two eggs a night!). Addi got so excited to open the eggs each night and see what was inside. Though, (for anyone who hasn't done this, **SPOILER ALERT**) the last egg being empty, was very troubling to Addi! We read the message inside about Jesus's resurrection and resulting empty tomb, but Addi thought there was a mistake! Oh well, we'll see what happens next year!

We also got a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Mo (Jillian's parents) for the Easter weekend. It was a lot of fun to have them and Shayla with us to celebrate. We had a big ham dinner, with sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, and all the fixings, went to church for a very nice Easter program, and lounged around and ate candy until we were sick!

The weather was even nice enough for us all to go take a walk around town. We LOVE Spring!!

I don't mean to get all preachy (though I won't apologize if I do!), but it was really nice to be able to spend some time this week focusing on our Savior and his sacrifice for us, and really reflect on everything he accomplished for us in the last week of his life. The debt of gratitude we owe him is so overwhelming!
