The gathering was intimate and casual and it was really good to reconnect with people I spent a lot of time with during an important part of my life.
On our way there, we had a talk with Addi. Because she is usually very shy around new groups of people, we asked her to say hi and talk to the people at the party. She said "Okay, Daddy," but we didn't really have any hope of her doing anything other than cling to our legs and sit quietly on our laps.
When we arrived, I introduced Jillian and Addi, and Addi was quick to say "Hi. I Addi Holiday." She introduced herself to everyone, and found other children to run around and play with while we visited. She also found the snack table, and had to try one (or five) of everything)! It was great to see a lot of old friends and see how they are doing and meet their families.
In the end, Addi ate entirely too many snacks, and threw up on the car ride home, but we all had a lot of fun.
