A return to regularly scheduled programming

Thank you for allowing me to digress ever so slightly. If you are still reading our family blog I assume you are able to look past my human flaws.

So Jillian gave me (Steve) the assignment to update our blog. Mind you, this is Steve "I don't even keep a jounal" Holiday. but being the good husband I try desperately to be, I set to it--by browsing your blogs hoping to get inspiration or plagarism ideas. That is when I realized that most of you have one thing in common, Halloween pictures of your children. Well, I can't plagarize that! So, for the time being, don't worry, your creativity is safe.

These last couple of weeks have been relatively exciting. Last weekend we escaped! We packed up and ran off to Utah. Please don't hate us if you are reading this and saying "hey! they didn't come see me!" We had to get away for our personal sanity.
Have you ever had one of those months where even though you are home together every night, the constant push of the working life makes you need some alone time? That was our weekend. We shopped and visited with Janice and escaped to the mountains!

We returned in time for Halloween at Melaleuca, a time of year filled with extravagent decorations and enough candy to make anyone sick. We went all out on the decorations this year at work, and the reward was well worth it--to see the sheer joy on the children's faces as they came through Jillian's department's "Toy Story" or my department's "Harry Potter" was priceless.

We quickly dicovered that Halloween has become a season now, though. Monday I helped Dawn take Grant and Garrett to Boo at the Zoo, where the children trick-or-treat their way through the entire zoo. Tuesday we brought the children through Melaleuca, and Wednesday (the actual holiday) we handed out candy and celebrated with our friends the Davenports, the Bezzants, the Sweetwoods, the Sommers, and Dawn and the boys. We loved all of it, but Thursday we were wiped out!! We're just jealous we didn't have a Halloween season when we were growing up!

Right now it is very late, but I promise that we do have fun pictures and I will attach them to this tomorrow.

Sounds like a fun Halloween, I wish Nate and I could say we did something as exciting. We just put together baby furniture and gave candy out when the door bell rang.

I'm glad to hear things are going well for you two!
