So Jillian has been kind of concerned about whether we are really having a girl. On Monday, she went in for her 24 week checkup and while the assistant was checking the baby's heartbeat, they had a conversation. This is how it went:
Nurse: Oh you found out what you were having last month, didn't you?
Jillian: Yes we sure did....
Nurse: This is a little boy, isn't it? I can tell this is a boy.
Jillian: Actually, they think it is a little girl.
Nurse: (puzzeled grimace on her face) Oh, I would just guess by the heartbeat and the way you're carrying the baby it was a boy.........(more grimace on her face) I guess you can never tell.
Well that was that, any confidence we had in what we were having went out the window. So Jillian started looking into getting another ultrasound. And that is when we discovered that doctor's overcharge like CRAZY for those things- when we figured out what our insurance paid and what we paid, it had to be about $600, and the "professional" couldn't even muster enough confidence in her voice to convince us what we were having. And since the baby wanted to be modest and keep its legs crossed most of the time, we still can't tell by reviewing all 6 minutes or so of the tape. We found a hospital that will do another one for $20 or a 3-D ultrasound for less than $100.
So hold off on your overwhelming urges to buy any baby clothes, I guess, and we will keep you posted...
(UPDATE) We have another ultrasound tomorrow night, so we will let you know as soon as we get home!

Man that stinks...I already bought matching frilly pink dresses for little winefred and her aunt jennie. Oh well...I guess if it's a boy he will have to wear it.
